I just am in love with my tomatoes this year. The plants look marvelous!

The Midnight Snack cherry tomatoes were slow to grow. Truthfully, I think the seeds weren’t very good. It happens. Not necessarily the fault of whatever seed company it was – I do not recall who my husband bought them from. They are monster vines now and I just waiting for the tomatoes to ripen.

The next tomato is another one. My husband picked out called Big Brandy. The tomato yield has been prolific and it’s an incredibly healthy vine. The only thing is I wonder if the seeds were mis-marked because they’re smaller than they are advertised to be.

Now for my favorite tomato of 2026. I could just grow these and be happy. I can’t believe I grew them! Tomato Costoluto Fiorentino. This deeply ribbed super sweet, heirloom tomato hails from Florence, Italy.

I bought the seeds from company called Seeds from Italy. I also bought chili pepper seeds from them that are wonderful as well.

I grow my vegetables and a lot of my herbs in pots. This year I loaded up my pots with the compost from my compost maker. I always forget about putting the compost in the pots. I put it in the flower beds. It has made a world of difference and everything is crazy huge.

Today I also harvested the last of my summer crop of potatoes. I don’t know that I will plant any others this year, but they sure are pretty. I wasn’t going to grow potatoes this year. Then I had some that started to sprout so I just decided to plant them.

I have a lot of cleanup to do because it has been alternately sweltering hot with a side of a bad tropical drought mixed with crazy amounts of thunderstorms.

I also have to feed the roses again. But for now, I am trying to enjoy what my garden is giving me. Of course I am planning the fall planting and I have some sale perennials to stick in.
