Today was a little rain gardening, but it wasn’t so rainy that I was miserable. I planted two trees and three shrubs, and then I had to move the big limb that the tulip poplar in the back decided to drop on a bed I’m trying to establish next to the huge black oak with the bat box and raccoons.
This is why tulip poplars are among my least favorite trees. They have soft wood, and you always have to watch them.

Now I also have roses starting to open and I haven’t even fed them yet. I have to accomplish that this weekend as soon as it stops raining because it’s a drench.
I have much trimming to do because it is crazy the way things are growing.
I shouldn’t complain and I’m really not. It’s just somewhat astounding. It makes it hard to keep up.
Also something very interesting. I lost a bunch of Oriental and Asiatic lilies over the winter. I don’t know if something ate the bulbs or it was too cold. Now it shouldn’t have been too cold because I buy a lot of them from Minnesota.
Happy gardening!
